The Blanket

My work is based on the relationship with my personal emotions in different conditions. The blanket in the painting symbolizes me, which is the comfort item that I have been together for the process of my emotions and been with since the moment I stood alone in the United States. Loneliness and solitude are always at the side of my heart. However, at some point, I was enjoying the feeling I hated at first and found new freedom in it. These paintings demonstrate the fluctuations in those emotions. The paintings show my strong identity of free self and perfectionism simultaneously through the blending of rough abstraction and heightened realism. Through expressive mark I’m able to communicate my new relationship with my emotions and the space I now inhabit.
